  3.     This firmware is valid ONLY for CRW2216E/4416E.
  4.  
  5.     * DO NOT USE THIS FIRMWARE FOR OTHER DEVICES.
  6.     * DO NOT USE THIS UTILITY PROGRAM TO INSTALL OTHER VERSIONS OF THE FIRMWARE.

  8.     Before upgrading the firmware:
  9.         1, Check the back of the recorder if the setting is host or slave, 
  10.         and if the recorder is connected to the primary or the secondary port.
  11.  
  12.         2, Disconnect all other EIDE devices if they are connected 
  13.         to the same computer.
  14.  
  15.     1) This folder contains three files as stated below:

  17.     1, Ata99909.bin          Updated Version 1.0h
  18.  
  19.     2, Atinst.exe          Installer program to execute firmware upgrade
  20.                   (for DOS version) Version 1.11
  21.  
  22.     3, AtREADME.txt          Instruction for the upgrade
  23.  
  24.     2) How to install the new firmware.
  25.       Connect the recorder to the host PC via ATAPI I/F
  26.       Turn the recorder on (no disc in the drive)
  27.       Turn the host PC on and run MS-DOS.
  28.  
  29.     This utility program does not function in the MS-DOS Prompt in
  30.     Windows 95/98, and the computer must be restarted in MS-DOS mode.

  32.     3) These two files should be in the same folder.

  39.          Type in:

  45.         [CRW2216E/4416E target]   m: master, s: slave

  47.         [CRW2216E/4416E bus]   p: primary, s: secondary

  50.     CRW2216E/4416E receives the binary data from the PC via ATAPI line 
  51.     to be stored into the internal buffer of the drive.
  52.     
  53.         If any errors occurs, "ATAPI I/O Error" will appear.
  54.     If you have any troubles, please check with the connection
  55.     or selected target/ host conflict or AC power supply
  56.     and any other things that may be causing the error.
  57.  
  58.     CRW2216E/4416E starts the binary data copy from the internal buffer to
  59.     its flash memory after all data is received from the PC.
  60.     DISC/ON LED and READ/WRITE LED on the front panel will
  61.     blink during the operation period.
  62.     When it finishes, DISC/ON LED becomes
  63.     solid orange and READ/WRITE LED will be turned off.

  65.         Reboot the computer and the CRW2216E/4416E before using the new version of
  66.         the firmware.
